In 1989, instructor Tony Henrys travelled to China to live and receive tuition from Master Fu Zhongwhen, following a letter of introduction from Erle Montaigue.

Here is a photograph of Tony and Master Fu pushing hands.  The photograph was taken at Shanghai University.  Tony recalls being very respectful when “pushing” with Master Fu, not trying to show off, so he said the experience was amazing but gentle.

Tony’s travelling companion also pushed hands with Master Fu and the companion was a little less respectful and tried to be more aggressive with his pushing.  When Tony asked him later how the pushing felt he said “trying to push Master Fu was like trying to push a mountain!!”

What a fabulous Class last night.
We welcomed Alex and a number of his excellent students from Tamworth.
What a joy to meet up again and share knowledge of our wonderful art together.
